Alaska’s 2-1-1 Call Center Needs Volunteers!
Alaska’s 211 Call Center is requesting volunteer support for answering the phone lines for the next 2 to 3 weeks. The work could be done remotely and only during regular call center hours (7am-8pm). Volunteer schedules can be split into two shifts.
Volunteers will be registered through Alaska Respond, a volunteer registry that serves as Alaska’s Emergency System for Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals (ESAR–VHP). Volunteers will be scheduled and supervised by representatives from Alaska Respond and will not be working under the purview of the United Way of Anchorage, the agency that operates Alaska 2-1-1.
Volunteers will only be answering calls related to COVID-19 related topics. Requests for other social services resources will not be routed to Alaska Respond volunteers.
